ScotClans supplies emergency sporran to Tartan Brass

Last Friday saw the Saddleworth & District Whit Friday Brass Band Contests go off with a bang. Often described as ‘The greatest free show on earth.’ bands from all over the country and Europe come to show off their skills. Many drinks are had by the bands as they move from town to town performing in different competitions. From the videos you can see it’s a lot of fun.

ScotClans donated a sporran for the occassion, saving an Englishman from humiliation when he was drafted in to play with the well known band – Tartan Brass, a scratch band which is made up of some of the top players from across Scotland.

Steve Alexander said

“Was a really good day on Friday, the band played well before the drink got flowing too much and managed a 6th place at Uppermill in the top division.

The only down side to the day was that we had some true Scottish weather with it being really cold and raining haha.

But spirits were not dampened by this and we still had a good day out.”
