Morrison People

Ruaraidh Morrison (1660-1712)
Known as “an Clarsair Dall” or “the blind harper” of Lewis, he is reckoned to be one of the finest clarsach players to come out of Scotland. He is remembered especially for his Gaelic lamet, “Oran Mor Mhic Leoid”.

John Morrison (17890-1852)
Famous Gaelic poet from the Isle of Harris.

James Morrison (b.1932)
A painter in oils and watercolour, his paintings are much in demand for private collections. Four of his works are in the private collection of the Duke of Edinburgh.
