Our Kilts

Gent’s Kilts

Choosing the correct weight of tartan. Firstly a Gent’s kilt should be made from at least a 13oz tartan. It will largely depend on the tartan you are looking for, mills have a stock range they weave and it’s different depending on the weight.
So, Medium weight vs heavyweight. Medium weight has a slightly smaller sett meaning you have more pleats, this means more swing. With a heavyweight kilt it’s more durable – meaning you won’t really need to press it again. Mostly it just comes down to personal preference.
