As part of our mini-tour on Sunday we managed to take in one of Scotlands spookiest roads, the Electric Brae near Ayr. We stopped the car to check if we were in the right place and immediately started going uphill!

It was named 'Electric Brae' in the 19th century when people thought the phenomenon was caused by electric or magnetic attraction from within the hill. It's actually an optical illusion - the road slopes slightly uphill but appears to slope downhill. We met a few people stopping to test it out and enjoyed the fabulous views of Ailsa Craig and Culzean Castle.
