Sir George Alexander Troup (1863 -1941)
George Troup was a New Zealand architect, engineer and statesman. Born in London to Scottish parents, they moved back to Edinburgh shortly after his birth. Troup was educated at Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen, and trained as an architect and engineer under C.E. Calvert in Edinburgh. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1884 where he went on to have a very successful career.
