John Wemyss (1586-1649)
John Wemyss was knighted in 1618 and was created a Baronet of Nova Scotia in 1625. He became High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, a Privy Councillor and one of the Committee of the Estates.
David Wemyss (d.1679)
He devoted his life to nurturing the resources of the Wemyss estate. He opened profitable salt and coal mines and built a large harbour at Methil.
James Wemyss (circa 1750)
